Thought they'd get a rental. May make resigning Marner tougher. They'll figure it out.
Muzzin is good. Cap hit is great for what he brings. Helps them push for the Cup this year. Looks to be a good deal for them to me. |

This trade is an absolute homerun for the Leafs.
A Bautista bat flip home run or a Joe Carter walk-off World Series Home run? |

On the surface, it seems like an incredible move by Dubas. The pick will likely be mid-20s, and the key piece (Grundstrom) projects to be a 4th liner. Doubtful Durzi ever cracks an NHL roster
I must say though, I'm concerned about the Tamsy kiss of death. That dude has the opposite of the Midas touch. Every prediction he's ever made has ended up being wildly inaccurate.....so we'll see |

more like a long pop up that wraps around the foul pole over a short porch in the 9th inning of a game you're losing by 12 runs |

That's weird because dating all the way back to calling for the Leafs to fire Carlyle, to predicting Kadri would be a great player, to Jake Gardiner, right up to the Leafs being a contender and going all in this year, I can't think of a single time I was ever wrong about the Leafs. |

So you admit it's a home run?
Holy frank, that was easy.
Habs fans just aren't what they used to be. |

This is a great trade for the Leafs. They trade nothing from their roster, give up nothing but B level prospects, and they add a player who is among the NHL's best defenseman. - James_Tanner
I thought there was a first rounder traded as well. |

Elapsed time for Tanner to eat his own words....... - Smurffin
This is precisely why I do the Leafs Predictor every year.
It started with my brothers - who would always take credit for amazing clairvoyance when it came to the Leafs. "I told you blah blah blah..."
So I started forcing them to fill the sheets out - no Leafs tickets unless they filled it out.
It's quite a fun exercise - and most importantly, it's a written record. |

If he is a legit top 4 guy, then I think its a fantastic deal, and the price is right.
I really wanted the leafs to land Mcdonagh last year, but I don't think he made Tampa THAT much better. It is hard to say how a player will impact your team.
I am also worried about transition time. Some players take a while to adjust to new partners, coach, system etc... I also realize that I don't know anything about the guy outside of his stat line... So, whats the honest scoop on Muzzin? I don't watch any Kings games, so I really don't know what kind of D he is. Any comparable guys in the East? |

What is it with these guys on the California teams and their shaggy beards??

A great deal! One a few I believe will happen it seems like there putting together the right pieces here a 500 ft home run a very good top flight D man coast was minimal and leaves the door open for something else......Johnson Gardner and b prospect for Ferland and pesce...Ferland is as good as gone getting Gardner for him,Johnson and a pick for Pesce seems do-able since Carolina really needs a scoring winger, anyways good times guys go leafs go!!!

Kadri as a terrible season, he not great he good, and most leafs fans are currently wishing last night trade means Gardiner is on the way out..
So yeah... |
